What does McCain have to do tonight to win? What about Obama?
Is this is a make or break for either candidate?
Is bringing up Bill Ayers’ association with Obama a wise move? What about Obama going after McCain regarding the Keating Five?

There’s no need for me to offer any additional commentary other than to present the evidence:
Mark Warner “angrily denied” in the Richmond Times-Dispatch that he called the NRA, people of faith, home schoolers and people who believe in the right to life “a threat to what it means to be an American.” He called […]

So, Gerry Connolly, who was supposed to debate Keith Fimian this morning went off to a high-dollar San Francisco fundraiser with the woman whose ring he would love to kiss: Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
During the debate, Andrew Hurst, Connolly’s surrogate, compared the $430 million in-debt county that Connolly is supposedly Supervisor for to “Disneyland.”
Apparently the comparison […]
It should be a scandal - but it’s not.
I guess it’s really not newsworthy when the Virginia Education Association uses its power to attempt to move an election.
The Virginia Education Association sponsored “Obama Blue Day” on Tu…
Jim Gilmore and Mark Warner appeared in their one and only televised state-wide debate last night. The one hour debate featured plenty of quips from both candidates, as Gilmore attempted to paint a clear picture that he is on the side of the taxpayer….
The economic recovery bill has passed, easily, in the House 263-171.
Stay “tuned” for details and reaction.
Stock markets are mixed. Currently, at 2:40 p.m., the Dow is only up 18 points and the NASDAQ 4 points.

Palin performs incredibly tonight. She connected. Conveyed the conservative message. Stated articulately what we all believe. No doubt, Palin is the point of discussion.
Consider this an open-thread to tonight’s debate.
Regardless, there is only one reason we’re all watching tonight, right? It’s for the train wreck.
We’re either hopeful Joe Biden pulls a “Joe Biden” that even Joe Biden would be proud of. In other words — we’re looking for the gaffe of the century.
Or, we’re wondering whether […]

[Bearing Drift :: Virginia Politics and Podcasts] Dear John
Dear Senator John McCain:
I’ve heard that you are all for this big bailout thing that Congress rejected yesterday. I’m sorry to hear you are arguing over the terminology of “rescue” vs “bailout.” I hate to mention l…

Well, at least they inaccurately characterize the conservative perception.
The headline of Charles Babbington’s report on the state of negotiations of the bailout plan reads:
“A bad day for the GOP on politics, bailout plan”
How so?

As you are well aware by now, the commonwealth is some $2-3 billion in the hole because Jody Wagner, former Secretary of Finance and Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, forgot to carry “the one”. Regardless of how we got here though, now is time for state “leaders” to demonstrate what they’re made of.
You can […]
Actually, according to her name tag, she was “Sarah Palin Wannabe” but Michelle Staton had the hairdo and glasses down and she was certainly thrilled with Ken Cuccinelli’s candidacy and Sarah Palin’s!

“So, you know, I think the message is, if you need us, if I can be helpful, I’m prepared to be there at any point.
“But, keep in mind, again, I’m talking to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, the congressional leadership, Hank Paulson, I’m talking to them every single day. We have been working around the clock. […]

I heard an interesting poll breakdown this morning on NPR’s Morning Edition. Their latest poll shows the presidential election in a dead heat with McCain barely leading at 227 electoral votes and Obama following at 222 (one would need 270 to win the …
Are there any NoVA/DC property tax attorneys out there?
In yesterday’s debate between Glenn Nye and Rep. Thelma Drake (R-VA02), Drake asserted that Nye was purportedly doing something improper by taking a “homestead deduction” in Washington DC because he did not live there.
After some further research, Glenn Nye, co-owner of the property with his brother, does […]
[Bearing Drift :: Virginia Politics and Podcasts] Report: 60,000 Come See Gov. Palin
The “Chosen One’s” campaign used to love citing the numbers of people who would attend his appearance as proof he was “Who we were waiting for.” If this is true, maybe people were actually waiting for Gov. Sarah Palin.
“Sa-Rah! Sa-Rah!” they chanted at every mention of her name, applauding loudly and waiving tiny American […]
