There’s nothing for the Democrats to cheer in this poll other than oversampling.

What we do need is the old fusionism Ronald Reagan turned into a warhorse for the conservative cause — Jack Kemp and Rand Paul.

Simply put? Gillespie didn’t have to change who he was to win. Northam did, and that’s a problem for the Democrats moving towards November.

Democrats are clearly angry at Republicans. It’s also clear that Republicans are, too.

  • I think the biggest issue is simple – these polls only include folks who answer them. I think most Stewart supporters, as with most Trump supporters, aren’t going to tell a random stranger how they’re voting.

      I’ll agree with you. I was knocking on doors for Team Gillespie in Shenandoah County, and got an awful lot of refusals – more than usual. Kinda led me to know something wasn’t right, although everyone else said they were supporting Ed.

      Except it’s not just Virginia. Polls in Georgia showed a Democrat win for weeks.
