Memorial Day: A Day of Remembrance, A Day of Action
As American citizens, we enjoy incredible freedom and liberty. Nations across the globe do not enjoy the freedoms and sovereignty that America has secured. From our liberties granted through the Bill of Rights in the Constitution, no one nation can claim the totality of freedoms here in America.
Remembering the valor and service of our military veterans is paramount to their sacrifice. Our veterans have risked and many gave their life to defend our liberties, our Republic and our way of life. From the Revolutionary War to Afghanistan, our military has been there to secure our nation and our God given freedom.
This Memorial Day, I ask you not only be mindful of our veterans, but to take a moment to put your thoughts to action for our veterans. The American Maverick has featured two worthy veteran organizations based in Virginia over the past two weeks on-air and on our blog. Including: the Vietnam War Foundation and the “4 The Wounded 5K”. Please consider a contribution to support one or both causes.
Vietnam War Foundation. It’s mission to educate the public about the Vietnam Era, support Vietnam veteran advocacy and to exhibit authentic artifacts of the Vietnam War. The foundation’s museum in Virginia is incredibly immersive and authentic. Equipment and vehicles are restored for a true hands on experience. Your generous contribution will assist them with acquiring more artifacts and help them with a planned expansion.

Wounded Warrior Project. The American Maverick is a media sponsor for the “Third Annual 4 The Wounded 5K”. The foot race will be held on June 1 in Charlottesville, Virginia. You do not need to run to help. Cash contributions are needed to make our goal of $125,000. 100% of all contributions go directly to Wounded Warrior Project. Please help our cause.
