FBI Director James Comey is being roundly vilified and praised by Democrats. It’s a whirlwind. Democrats, who have been 100% negative and uncooperative with anything remotely to do with President Trump, couldn’t even decide if his performance in a Congressional hearing warranted praise or castigation.
So they gave him both.
Democrats applauded when Comey said he found no evidence that President Obama et al. wiretapped Trump and/or his associates.
Democrats cheered.
But he did say they’ve been investigating Russian ties to the Trump campaign since last summer.
Democrats booed, and booed loudly!
Huh? Trump is/was being investigated and Democrats don’t like it?
See, Comey also was investigating Hillary’s email hacks, presumably from the Russians, and he let everyone know it, especially when he essentially re-opened the investigation weeks before Election Day.
Why keep Trump’s investigation so hush-hush while having press conferences about Hillary?
So when Comey refutes the President’s assertion that he or his offices were wiretapped, Democrats love it, but when he says there was an investigation, Democrats don’t.
One wonders what kind of investigation of Trump’s campaign and any Russian involvement in said campaign would not involve some kind of phone monitoring, especially on international calls.
Especially since phone transcripts were leaked to the press, one can certainly wonder who was transcribing these calls without tapping them.
But Comey was the Democrat’s hero for offering that he had no information supporting the assertion of Trump being wiretapped.
But by offering that he was investigating both Trump and Clinton, Clinton very publicly and Trump very privately, Democrats have gone ballistic.
Democrats get so excited whenever they can add to their list of “why Hillary lost” excuses that don’t involve Hillary.
Of course, with all this investigating, no evidence was found to show that a single vote was cast or counted incorrectly or wrongly or fraudulently because of Russian interference. No one “hacked” the election, and those who claim someone did have to explain why it failed so miserably, since Trump did not win the national popular vote.
All I’ve seen is that private emails were released to the public that were never refuted as untrue, fake or phony. So, the public had more access to the truth.
The media dutifully reported this as a “rough day for Trump”, but I don’t see how.
Trump said he and his team were being investigated, and Comey confirmed they were secretly being investigated since July. If the method was something other than wiretaps, does that really matter? Being investigated by the Obama’s FBI is the point, isn’t it?
Someone was transcribing phone calls and leaking it to the press, which is a felony. If Comey finds those culprits, the Democrats are really going to fume.
