First the vote against Obamacare.  Then the national fifth-grade embarrassment that was his book (from a Ph.D no less).  The scathing articles in POLITICO.

…and now, this interview on MSNBC where the man literally has to yell into the microphone, agree with every critique from the host, and in the end get the “now Dave” sort of treatment from the Katy Tur:

Let’s face it — Brat is a former staffer for moderate State Senator Walter Stosch — co-author of 2007’s illegal tax hike, HB 3202 — who got elected for the sole reason that Democrats colluded with former LP activists in order to hijack the Tea Party’s effort to oust House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.

The media isn’t putting Dave Brat on the circuit for his fine elocution and high-minded intellectual appeal…

The media is trotting him out there because he’s a goddamn idiot.

Look at the man stumble over everything.  Get into a pinch?  You’re an economist, Dave… trot that out.  Get tested on that?  You’re a teacher, Dave.  Everyone loves a teacher!  Not good enough?  Debt… it sounds scary… plebes don’t understand how we’re going to be bankrupt in 2036… you’re an economist Dave…

Let’s be honest here.  Where most folks have a conscience, Dave Brat has an empty china doll.  More accurately, one of those gimmicky 1970s era dolls that repeat the same five or six lines whenever you pull the string.

In fact, there is probably not a better graphical presentation of Dave Brat interacting with the charred, soulless remains of what-might-have-once-been-a-conscience than this video right here:

The man has simply sold out.

How this middling economist survives — a social science on par with psychology or sociology, mind you — day to day, a man who watched his putative career on “moral markets” go up in flames as the entire discipline moved to calculated self-interest in the 1990s, a man who couldn’t publish in an notable journal of record (much less a book), a man who made a name in Richmond as a spineless moderate whose active public life started by getting jilted at the altar for the 56th District of the House of Delegates, then found religion as a Tea Party conservative to now have to wake up, get dressed, wonder where the extra 30 pounds came from, and then have to go out and sell not only others but himself every day on why the dumpster fire he helped create isn’t his and that the firefighters busy putting it out are morons?

Brat isn’t an educated man.  The guy might be the modern day version of an educational paper hanger… but he’s not an educated man.

Dave Brat is the scummiest of political hacks — a man that did and said anything to get into office, and now will do or say anything to stay there.

Of course, Brat thinks he’s safe until redistricting.  What he doesn’t realize is that if enough people get fed up with the stupid, a convention is a perfect opportunity to pry Brat out with a sensible, factual, durable conservative in the mold of Wittman.

…but it’s coming.

In the meantime, don’t worry about the whisper campaign.  It’s probably your own conscience… or whatever is substituting for it at any given moment.

Shaun is still in denial why his idol Eric Cantor lost. He repeats the discredited spin that “Democrats” elected Brat when in fact it was a massive turnout increase as conservatives sent Cantor and Kenney a big FU.

    • David Eggleston

A massive turnout increase as all my Democratic friends in the 7th flooded the polls. But that was only part of it. There were other reasons, too. But it wasn’t a conservative groundswell. That’s for sure.

      • Rick Shaftan

        Lay off the coke dude.

        • David Eggleston

Sorry, bud. It’s alright. Cantor had every right to campaign for Democratic votes, too. But the Democrats got what they wanted. Removed an effective conservative from House leadership and replaced him with an ineffectual Elmer Gantry impersonator. Don’t get high on your own supply, Shaftan.

          • Rick Shaftan

If you think Cantor was a conservative then you definitely are on coke, and if you think he was effective then probably meth.

          • Eric McGrane

Effective? You mean the way he pushed the country more the right and brought down the debt and deficit, and shrunk government?

Wait, is there a different Eric Cantor that I don’t know about??

          • Justin Cherlet

If only paul ryan could have taken away maternity and metal health care for the nazi caucus the debt would be even lower! – tea party logic

      • As was evidence in the WaPo tell all about how it happened…

The only disgusting things here, are the poisonous badgering questions , And leading conclusions, from the creature from MSNBC . Anyone who watches and thinks this is journalism, is mistaken. Dave Brat is a good, and true representative of his constituents . As well as any honest, decent person could be in this instance . God Bless Dave Brat!!

    • Jason Maggard

If he’s a true representative of his constituents, does that mean they’re morons too?

  • Jay Hughes

Dave Brat’s pills taste like caaaaaandy…….
