…and though there is nothing entirely radical about any of the proposals, what’s notable is that it isn’t bold or draconian, but rather a tightening of the rules around the edges in order to make the lines bold and clear — quite a shift.

I was running for governor on reform ideas, and Ed’s ideas on transparency are good ones. And they’d eliminate advantages sitting elected officials have over citizens like me in running.
…which has to be a punch to the gut of a Frank Wagner campaign that has been extremely short on visibility and a Corey Stewart campaign that has been visible on all the wrong things.

Virginia continues to have some of the weakest ethics laws in the nation. This is an issue we have tried to address on numerous occasions with little success. I applaud Ed Gillespie for keeping this important issue front and center and proposing a comprehensive plan to strengthen Virginia’s ethics laws, promote transparency and ensure greater citizen participation in government. This is just one of many issues Ed is talking about in his campaign, and just one of many reasons why I know Ed would make a great Governor for our state.
