The General Election now has the spotlight all to itself, what with the local elections out of the way. The parties are still taking in the local results, so for now the pollsters get the attention.
ORB International, which I think is relatively new to the UK polling game (that is to say I don’t remember them polling in either the 2015 election or the 2016 referendum), initially had the Conservatives leading Labour 42-31; now it’s 46-31, and largely in line with everyone else. Opinium has the Tories down 1 (to 46), with Labour holding at 30.
So two more polls have the Conservatives over 45, and Labour around 30. The herd grows – and when it comes to UK polling, that’s usually not a good thing.
